The Benefits of Business Class - Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of our blog series - The Benefits of Business Class - where we explore the advantages of spending a little extra money to elevate your entire travel experience to a whole new level.

Wining and Dining is another huge benefit of flying in Business Class! The pre-packaged trays with a nondescript “chicken or fish” option are nowhere to be found. Welcome to the world of real china, glassware, proper cutlery and delights for the tastebuds! Not a perk to be underestimated by any means; a hearty & delicious meal is the perfect way to a food-coma before you get comfy in your bed at 36,000ft.

Many airlines now partner with world-famous chefs to develop their premium menus, putting in hundreds of hours of development for each new dish to make sure it tastes exceptional. Did you know that at 35,00ft, food & drink tastes different because of the altitude? On most airlines, you’ll be provided with a choice between 3-5 dishes for each course, which will be served in a traditional three-course format unless you request otherwise - when you’re sat up front you get to call the shots!

Qatar Airways are seen as one of the best airlines at delivering their meal service. Often referred to as ‘Dine on Demand’, this allows each passenger to choose what they would like to eat from the menu and when. If you want a full evening meal, “no problem Sir/Madam”, whereas your companion may choose to have the breakfast option and a light lunch later on. This concept is highly regarded by customers & industry leaders alike, as it provides complete flexibility; each passenger feels the service is being personalised to them & their individual needs.

Menu A Business Class Menu

We’ve all flown in Economy at some point. Do you remember that feeling when you’ve finished your food, but you’re stuck with the empty tray on your table, and you need to visit the bathroom but the aisle is blocked by the food cart… none of that in Business Class either. It’s quite rare to see a dining cart when you’re sat up front, as most meals are hand-delivered from the galley straight to your seat. All part of the premium experience. This allows passengers more ability to move around during the service as the aisle isn’t blocked, but it also makes everything feel more personal and professional.

Meals can often vary depending on your flight and destination, to be more representative of the route, time and cultures. A British Airways flight to New York, for example, might be a day flight offering lunch, followed by a traditional afternoon tea, whereas a flight from India to the UK on Virgin Atlantic during the evening, will offer you dinner including a traditional Indian option, followed by an English breakfast before arrival. This care and attention to detail are seen across many airlines, allowing you to immerse yourself in the spirit of your destination.

Breakfast Breakfast service in Business Class

Once you’ve boarded and settled yourself into your comfortable Business Class seat, you’ll be greeted with a welcome drink whilst you peruse the menu at your leisure - all very refined! There’s always an extensive list of beverages to choose from including top-shelf spirits & more.

How about a glass of champagne with your starter, some white wine with your main course and a tipple of port with your dessert? No problem! Whatever catches your eye, chances are there will be a drink for you. All served in glassware - not plastic - and refilled on request, of course.

Airlines have spent vast amounts of money in recent years to make their menus an event themselves, serving some of the best that money can buy. Emirates - arguably the most opulent airline in the sky - owns around seven million bottles, in a temperature-controlled warehouse in Burgundy, with some 70 wines offered across their network. They currently have six wine lists on offer to their customers, depending on the region.

Ultimately, travellers are spoiled with options for every palette, and it’s a perfect way to try something new. Those who choose to travel in Business Class - which we recommend you do to make your next adventure extra special - can expect to be served some of the best quality food made with fresh ingredients, created by world-renowned chefs, paired with high-quality wine, all served with a smile.
